Great price for my kid

My 9yr old son wanted a new reel to replace the old one he wore out. After looking at a few the department employee suggested this would last better than the slightly cheaper model. After much deliberation, my son bought this reel to catch Pink salmon and Coho with. I put line on it and he went out on the street to practice casting. So far so good. Drag is easily adjusted and he can handle it with ease.

I switched to open face reels 5-6 yrs ago, and this was the first open face reel I bought, and I still use it to date! its great, holds line well, and casts smoothly!

Shimano FX Spinning reel

I purchased this reel as an economically priced back-up reel for fishing stripers on the Miramichi. The retrieve on this reel is so smooth that I found myself reaching for it more often than not. It also has an excellent drag and aided in the landing of hundreds of big striped bass so far this season.
