The Sentinel Floor Drain Guard Sewer Backflow Protection Valve provides effective defense against costly sewer backups. This CSA certified valve fits 3” and 4” floor drains, remaining open for normal drainage while closing to prevent backflow if needed. As the only consumer backflow valve approved by HOLMES, the durable ABS plastic Sentinel valve features silicone gaskets for a watertight seal during backflow incidents. With quick installation requiring no upkeep, the included fitted drain guard delivers vital backflow protection.

Doesn’t fit tight

Instructions could be more specific. Ours did not fit tight even after using a drill to tighten screws. I’m sure if there is a backup, our WILL leak, so kind of a waste of money for us if it’s not tight.

Will do the job.

This will do the job. I recently had my sewer line replaced but they couldn't put in a backwater valve due to the grade of the pipe being insufficient for it to work. This backflow floor drain should do the trick if there is ever any flooding from the City main line.

Q: Will it stop sewer gases from coming up ?

1 Answer

A: Sentinel sits in a naturally open position to allow drainage and only close with the pressure of water backing up. It will not prevent gases from coming up.
