Great heater

Like another reviewer I have the model with two dials. I purchased it in Dec. 2015 and use it almost daily in my bedroom/office. I researched portable heaters and found this one to be of good value since it is very light (very portable), has a thermostat and is made in Canada. On the high setting I find it somewhat noisy. It quickly heats up the room and then you put it on the lower setting which is quieter and comes on periodically to maintain the temperature. I have a thermometer in my room and find it maintains the temperature quite well. It would be great to have preset temperatures on it. For the price I am happy that it has a thermostat which I did not find in other heaters in this price range. I do not use it at night since I prefer a colder room for sleeping so cannot comment on the noise. For the price point I highly recommend this heater.

Q: Does this have the chemical smell? all other heaters have caused me several health problems, usually due to unknown chemicals being evaporated in the air when they run, producing a strong smell.

A: All heaters, when stored, can accumulate dust inside and over prolonged storage, the accumulated dust will cause an initial smell when the heater is used for the first time in a long time. I live in the dry, dusty climate of southern Alberta. In more moist climates the dust problem will be less.

Q: Can the fan operate without the heat being on so it can be used for cooling in summer??

A: All of our heaters are equipped with polarized grounded power cords and plugs, so they are automatically grounded to prevent electric shocks in the event the heater experiences intrusion of water. Canadian Tire has carried two models in recent years: Model SF14TA which is an outlet mountable 1500 watt heater which is specifically designed for bathroom heating, as well as Model Sf11T, which is a 1500 floor or desk unit.
