Q: Is this mulch safe for dogs? I am getting a new puppy and want to make sure before using it. Obviously the puppy will be supervised but sometimes they do manage to get a peice.

A: When used as directed Scotts Nature Scapes Mulch can be used in areas where pets, such as cats and dogs, live and play. The wood used in the mulch can include (but is not limited to): pine, fir, cedar, cypress, etc. specific wood used varies depending on what is available. Mulch colorants are water-based coatings made with pigments, man made additives and polymers and are non-toxic.

A: We recommend applying the mulch at a depth of 5-7.5 cm (2-3 inches) deep. At a 5 cm depth 1 bag will cover 1.1 square meters (12 square feet).

A: Scotts Nature Sapes Deep Forest Brown Mulch does contain a colorant. The colorant is a water-based coating made with pigments, man made additives and polymers. The colorant is non-toxic and will not cause harm to people, pets or plants.
