An hour after adding it the check engine light came on, heater stopped working, coolant temp started spiking, and radiator fan going crazy. Truck is now in the shop to figure out what is going on.

No, I do not recommend this product.

didn't stop my slow leak - it was very minor prior to me using this head gasket sealer and nothing has changed. Followed the rules explicitly - waste of money

  • A: If you don't want to replace your entire cooling system. Don't use it. My caused overheating. I traded my car. It doesn't work very well. Find a good mechanic and do it right. Replace the head gasket properly

Q: I have a 2011 Chevy Tahoe 5.3 L antifreeze leaking from the back of the engine around the head possibly into the engine as well I have 16.8 L cooling system capacity how much of the riskiness heavy duty head seal product do I use in the cooling system

  • A: Hi I have a 2008 Range Rover sport HSE 4.4 L and had a very similar situation with antifreeze leaking at the back end are used it and it sealed the leak so I was very happy with it. What I would do next time is if possible bypass the Heater core so that it does not cause issues with gunking up the heater core. After realizing that I was not getting any heat I had to get it flushed. I’m not suggesting that it being plugged up was 100% because of the product but I believe it did add to the situation having said that I am extremely happy with the outcome. I am confident that it will work the only caution I have is a if you can do something that would bypass your heater core I’m confident that you will be very pleased with the results good luck to you.

Q: will Rislone blown head gasket repair also fix leaks in a radiator. or can i use a radiator stop leak after using Rislone

  • A: I used this product and then after about 8 months used a radiator stop leak. This helped buy me the time I needed to save up the funds for the replacement radiator which was done another 4 or so months later.  PS. Brand new radiator and it’s still not holding fluid. Am told could also need water pump.

Q: I used this on my 2010 dodge grand caravan about 9m month ago and worked really well. At 230000 km it solved the problem but still had to top up the reservoir every few weeks. Its now starting to lose a lot more radiator water. Can i put in another can?

  • A: I wouldn’t, the problem with this product is, it solves one problem and creates another, you possibly now could have a water pump seal leak and or radiator could be plugged or leaking  and depending on how big the head  gasket leak was it could have blown out again…but then again cheaper to change a water pump then head gasket so giver…I guess…

  • A: Si le véhicule peut fonctionner pendant 15 minutes sans surchauffe et perd du liquide de refroidissement, nous pouvons l'aider. Si l'huile est crémeuse, cela indique que du liquide de refroidissement pénètre dans l'huile. Dans ce cas, il faut vidanger l'huile, changer le filtre et ajouter de l'huile fraîche. La perte de chaleur est probablement due aux hydrocarbures gazeux (bulles) qui créent de l'air dans le système. Nous avons vérifié la capacité du liquide de refroidissement et s'il s'agit d'un moteur de 3,6 litres, la capacité du liquide de refroidissement est de 11 pintes ou 10,4 litres, s'il s'agit d'un moteur de 3,4 litres, elle est de 10,5 pintes ou 9,9 litres.   • A: Coolant capacity for this 2008 BMW 328xi is 8.5L for this 3.0L engine. Proper dosage would be half the bottle. The product is designed to be used in what most manufacturers recommend which is 50/50 antifreeze and is compatible with all antifreezes. Please note the product does not have antifreeze in it - protect it from freezing before using it. This product is to be installed in a cool engine, per the directions, into the radiator if there is a cap on the radiator. If there is no cap on the radiator then it can be installed in the pressurized reservoir. Follow the directions as stated for best results. Do not overfill. You do not need to drain all the coolant to install the product. If the radiator is full before installing the product you will need to drain or syphon some out to make room for the proper dosage. If you have not used a chemical cooling system flush product in the past four years you would want to consider doing so, flushing with water will remove loose sediment, but if any scale is building up in the system it needs to be dissolved chemically then flushed. With a clean system we have the best chance to help you. If your vehicle is overheating in under 15 minutes it is an indication the leak is too severe to be chemically sealed and would need to be mechanically repaired.
