Reliable video doorbell with clear video and conve

I’ve had a good experience using the Ring video doorbell. The video quality is clear, and I like being able to see and speak to visitors from my phone. Installation was straightforward, and the design looks clean on the door. It’s been reliable for alerts and notifications, and the added privacy and security features give peace of mind. Overall, it’s a convenient and useful home security upgrade.

Installation was easy for my husband to do the hardest part is connecting to the internal ringer component box in the house! Once set up we tested it out with him and my pup on screen (image attached) the image is clear and i could hear them and every solicitor that comes to the door just fine. I love having the option to record and save videos and view from my home whenever I’m away! My only complaint is the increase in subscription price outside of that the device itself is great but you almost completely need that subscription!

This has helped me all the time stray racoons were by my door and I scared them off thanks to this ring doorbell I recommend making sure your packages are there it's easy to install less that a minute

Secure in my home, wide angle, battery or wired

Got this as a gift when we moved into our first house. The wide angle camera works great to be able to see all surroundings, installation was kinda tricky as we wired it to our actual doorbell that was there beforehand, but we got it figured out and works like a charm. Battery life is quite long and can also wire this one to a power source if you have one and don’t want to use battery. User friendly, only thing I wasn’t expecting was the subscription needed for it to work, but it isn’t very expensive and honestly worth it.

Q: Can someone clarify if this HAS to be hardwired or can it just be battery operated for both the camera & ring function? On ring.com it states the version “2” is battery hookup, here the description states hardwired. Thank you.

A: The Ring Video Doorbell 2 has a quick-release battery pack that can be charged via micro-usb to a wall adapter. If the customer/neighbor does happen to have an existing doorbell, with the wiring intact and working (8-24VAC output), then they can hardwire the Ring Video Doorbell s to provide a trickle charge to the battery pack. This way they do not ever have to remove the battery to charge it. If they do have the Ring Video Doorbell 2 hardwired they also get the benefit of having their existing doorbell chime activate when Ring's doorbell button is pressed.
