I have had my ring doorbell for five years before I stopped working, I am currently going to buy another ring doorbell. I do love the ring doorbell. I would rate it like a four out of five only due to the fact that my ring doorbell doesn’t always catch every single movement outside so it seems other than that it’s OK.

I love the ring camera!!! Works great, never have any difficulties with it. Alerts you threw out the day. Setup and install is super easy, as long as you have Wifi.. They also have it soo other people on your street you can build your community with your neighborhood!! They have several different kinds of cameras, alarms, security for everything!!! I recommend this product 100%! Clear pictures, very accurate,etc.

Q: Can someone clarify if this HAS to be hardwired or can it just be battery operated for both the camera & ring function? On ring.com it states the version “2” is battery hookup, here the description states hardwired. Thank you.

A: The Ring Video Doorbell 2 has a quick-release battery pack that can be charged via micro-usb to a wall adapter. If the customer/neighbor does happen to have an existing doorbell, with the wiring intact and working (8-24VAC output), then they can hardwire the Ring Video Doorbell s to provide a trickle charge to the battery pack. This way they do not ever have to remove the battery to charge it. If they do have the Ring Video Doorbell 2 hardwired they also get the benefit of having their existing doorbell chime activate when Ring's doorbell button is pressed.
