Q: So my ac was recharged last a couple weeks and then not cool air. It was left that way for about a month...do i need to add the refrigerant first before the proseal12? And can the refrigerant and proseal use the same hose/gauge?

A: Hi - Yes, your compressor needs to be running before you can add the ProSeal additive. In order to do this you need to add some refrigerant. Both chemicals are compatible with our hose. Thanks,

Q: Red Tek Pro Seal is tested to seal a leak?

    2 Answers

A: I have used this in the systems on a 69 Cadillac, a 99 Explorer, and an 03 Explorer. It is easy to use and quite effective. It will seal any basic leaks in any system, but any major leak will require mechanical repair. Most leaks in an AC system are "o" rings and gaskets. You must maintain the system on a modern vehicle to keep the overall vehicle operation in check. It is all part of the computer managed system that "has" to be maintained. You let it go and you are in for major expense. It is not like the old days when you could just let it go. To do so is the first step in your car's death and will knock 40% off it's value (at least) at sale time. It is the easiest system on your vehicle to maintain. So be smart and save money. Conversely, stay away from a used vehicle that has a down AC system, because you are looking at a $1500 or better repair.

Q: is this just a sealant? will i have to buy a recharge bottle too? thx.

    1 Answer

A: Yes, you'll need to buy a recharge bottle. But also depends on how low your A/C system is. I personally used the sealant can and then used half a can of recharge. You can keep the recharge can attached to the nozzle and use it later to top up, in case the sealant didn't seal it 100%.

Q: 014-6129-8 is a kit I bought 2 yrs ago. I reused that gauge/hose with pro seal and it won't flow no matter what I do with the t-tap. What am I doing wrong? Will that hose not work?

    1 Answer

A: Hi - Yes the old hose will work with the new can design there is just a few extra steps: First identify the can you have. It could be the new self sealing design (identified by the opening in the can valve, with the self-sealing valve inside.) or the old piercing style.(identified by a smooth flat surface on the can valve) If its the new self sealing can follow these directions: 1. Before attaching the installation hose to the can, turn can tap handle counter clockwise to withdraw the piercing needle up into the can tap. 2. Screw can tap end of the installation hose onto REDTEK can. 3. Attach installation hose to the vehicle A/C system by pushing the quick connect coupler on to the low side service port. CAUTION :Make sure the quick connect coupler sleeve locks down into place and the coupler is securely connected to the vehicle port 4. With engine off, turn can upside down and turn the can tap handle clockwise until the piercing needle opens the self-sealing valve on the REDTEK can. NEW: Only turn the can tap clockwise until it depresses the self-sealing valve. You will notice the pressure reading on the gauge when the refrigerant is flowing. 5. After minimum charge (30psi) is achieved, start the vehicle and turn A/C system to highest setting. Make sure compressor is engaged/functioning. Finish filling A/C system to correct amount weight/pressure based on the equivalency chart and A/C recharge gauge. The A/C RECHARGE GAUGE should read between 30-38psi with A/C compressor running. Verify vent temperature. CAUTION:DO NOT OVERCHARGE SYSTEM! 6. Before removing Quick Coupler from LOWSIDE SERVICE PORT, turn CAN TAP HANDLE counter-clockwise all the way to stop refrigerant flow. 7. Remove quick coupler by pulling sleeve up. 8. You can safely remove the installation hose from can even if there is product still left in the can as the new cans include a self-sealing valve. CAUTION: When removing installation hose from the can, DO NOT point the can towards yourself or any persons. Only remove installation hose in a well-ventilated area away from open flames. Always store unused REDTEK12a refrigerant in a well-ventilated place away from open flames.

Q: 'Hello! I have a micro leak in my portable A/C. Pro seal 12 it’s compatible with R410A refrigerant?

    1 Answer

A: Hi - No, The Proseal 12a is only compatible with automotive grade AC Systems. RED TEK has indicated that the ProSeal 22 could be used in the R410A portable AC system. This would be installed on the low side service port only. CT Sku - 0146131. Please ensure any old refrigerant is completely evacuated because it isn't recommended they mix. Thanks,

    1 Answer

Merci

    Translate with Google
    1 Answer
