Product Details

Prestone® DOT 4 Motor Vehicle Brake Fluid delivers enhanced performance vs. DOT standards, benefitting all vehicles calling for DOT 4. This synthetic fluid starts with a higher dry boiling point than the DOT minimum standard to protect against overheating, brake fade and performance decline due to water absorption. This extended life (50,000 mile) fluid is also formulated to prevent corrosion of all metals within the braking system. This formula is safe to use in all DOT 4 braking systems (ABS, disc or drum) and can mix with any DOT 4 fluid. It is recommended to only use the DOT fluid specified for your car, as using a different DOT product can affect the boiling point or replacement interval if the wrong fluid is used.

Large amount, less expensive, bottle seals well

The full synthetic will keep for a long period of time. Get yourself the tool to check to see if hydraulic fluid is still good to use. Get the large container and use what you need and store it away. Use a smaller container and draw from it with a syringe. Don't try to pour this large bottle into your reservoirs.

Q: What are the wet & dry boiling points?

A: The Dry boiling point for Prestone DOT 4 brake fluid is 258 degrees C (496 degrees F). The wet boiling point will eventually reach the minimum spec of 168 degrees C (334 degrees F). With varying outside factors the reaching of the wet boiling point will vary but with Prestone’s above DOT standard dry boiling point it will take the fluid longer to reach this wet boiling point, increasing the life of the fluid.
