Great Everyday Electric Shaver

Ok the fact I even bought an electric shaver, let alone leaving a review is beyond what I've done in the past. I've never had luck with electric shavers...EVER! They(all electric shavers in my past) did nothing but, pull my hair and when I would find one that did an ok job; they would one either cause me my neck to break out with bumps and/or ingrown; two, the blades would soon after the initial shave, dull up me or three, do both to me. Well, folks I found the shaver that hasn't filled up on me yet and because the blade assembly opens up, I can keep this thing clean after each shave. Running the blades in a hot water and alcohol solution for about 30 seconds seems to keep em nice and clean. Storing the shaver with its head open to air dry as it charges. My wife found these as a birthday gift last October and I now am able to shave almost everyday. I've always had an issue with hair bumps on my neck, so a straight razor has been my go to until she found me this!! So I recommend it, even if it is discontinued; I would recommend it's new and most likely improved version. What ever that may be, I would definitely recommend it. Thanks for awesome shaver.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Abysmal shave for a new product.

This 3000 model had " NOT " been a good purchase. After 5 minutes of shaving the ammount of stubble left over is incredible considering the unit and blades are brand new. My older model STILL does a 100% better job with years old blades than this new month old model. Poor Shave !!!!!

No, I do not recommend this product.

Philips consumer care
Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to share your review with us. We understand that you're experiencing issues with your Philips shaver, and we're here to help. Please try these troubleshooting tips to resolve the problem. We recommend starting by cleaning your shaver thoroughly, ensuring that you remove any dirt or hair particles that may be affecting the shaving heads. If possible, take apart the shaving heads and clean the shaver from the inside as well. It's important to make sure that your shaver is assembled correctly and that you use slow circular movements when shaving your face. If you're a new user, give your skin some time to adjust to the shaver. If you have long facial hair, consider pre-trimming it before shaving for better results. Remember to be gentle and apply the appropriate amount of pressure, especially if you have sensitive skin that is prone to irritation. If the issue persists despite these troubleshooting steps, please don't hesitate to reach out to us again, and we'll be more than happy to assist you further. If you have any additional questions, please get in touch via Social Media. We’re available on Facebook (@Philips) and Twitter (@PhilipsCare). Don’t worry, if you don’t use Social Media, you can also reach out to us via the contact page: www.Philips.com/contact. Hope to speak to you soon. Kind regards, Philips Consumer Care

2 Answers
  • A: According to the Philips Canada website the 3000 series (HQ6996) has automatic voltage handling capabilities of 100-240V. If the device has an automatically switching transformer then it is preferable to NOT use an external voltage regulator.

Q: re:shaver in flyer I have been to 3 different stores and none have these shavers. Why put them on special if you don't have them. I was there Friday morning so don't think they were sold out already.
