Great Inexpensive Solution

When the flap snapped off my dryer vent, I wanted to fix it quick before rodents could get in through the opening (been down that road before, didn't want the aggravation again). Rather than rip the whole thing off the side of the house and install a new one, I figured I'd try this first. It feels a but flimsy but should last for a while; as long as you secure it to the wall good and tight it should be a good long-term solution. Installation only took 5 minutes but you'll definitely need a drill to make some guide holes if you're installing it over siding or brick. It doesn't come with screws so make sure you pick some up. I don't know yet how it will stand up to winter weather but so far I'm very happy with it.

Fine for birds, useless for rodents

This vent cover will protect your vents from birds, squirrels, etc, but is completely useless for keeping out rodents (perhaps not meant to). The holes are much too big to discourage mice, and the rascals can easily climb in. It's easy to install but you'll need the right kind of drill if you've got bricks. Five stars or one star, depending on what you are hoping to use it for!
