Poor design

It air locked in the grey tube and hardened so nothing actually got to the windshield waste of 20$ rain x one was better

Hello Dab8, per your review it sounds like a step or two might have possibly been missed during use. It is imperative to ensure correct use and each step is followed for accurate use of the product under the consideration that the repair being attempted is on a chip, star or bullseye up to 3cm. Poor bonding on new kits.

I have used these kits for several years with largely positive results. Out of six kits I recently bought, five failed to seal and blew resin out everywhere. The adhesive pads are easier to remove than they used to be. But I think that is because there is an issue with the adhesive itself. Hope this gets fixed at the factory as these kits are very well packaged and are easy to use. But until the adhesive rings are improved, I will need to purchase an alternative.

Hello Big Red, thank you for your feedback. The adhesive discs that come with the Permatex Windshield Repair Kit and this is is important to make sure that you put added pressure on the discs when it is applied to the windshield to ensure a strong bond and seal. Thank you

I made a mistake in buying this , it is built ( 1 time use donut base ) for tiny Birds Eye hits and not useful for repairing cracked glass as on any type of electronics screen. I then took it back for a full refund.

The Permatex Windshield Repair Kit is intended for use on vehicle windshield for repair of damage caused by stone chipping and for use on stars, bullseye and chips up to 3cm only in diameter to help prevent further spreading of glass fractures. This product is not intended for use on electronic screens and makes no reference to use internally and ONLY on windshields as indicated in the product name. Thank you

Q: Can it do multiple repairs? Are the materials re-usable if you have more than one chip to repair at the same time?

  • A: I actually fixed two in one day. You only have 0.7 mL so don't be wasteful and load too much in at once. I found that repeating the syringe steps twice gave me a good fill and if it's not sunny the stuff won't set.

Q: Will this work on side mirror cracks

  • A: Probably not. The epoxy relies upon the suction created by the syringe under the applicator pad to spread throughout the crack. If the crack spreads beyond the edge of the pad, it will likely seep out of the crack or draw air into the syringe. This kit is designed for small stone chips that can be covered by the applicator.

Q: Can this product be used outside on a sunny but freezing winter day? Will the resin set when the temp is -20?

Q: I fixed cracked glass but it’s visible too much on top of it and unable the remove excess of it. How do I remove dried excessive glue from it? Thanks

  • A: Hello Angela, thank you for your question. The excess adhesive can be removed by using the edge of the supplied Safety Razor to gently scrape away rough spots.
