Product Details

Continental TrueContact Tire is a premium all-season touring tire offering excellent fuel economy, extended tread life and best-in-class wet braking performance.

Mud And Snow Rated

The M+S symbol differentiates an All-Season tire from a Summer only tire. While rated for light snow, they will not match a winter tire for traction or stopping distance on snow and ice.

  • Tuned performance indicators disappear when tire is no longer tuned, for optimal performance in either dry, wet, or snow conditions.

  • Comfort ride technology consists of a continuous comfort band system that absorbs vibrations caused by various road surfaces, significantly reducing the vibrations transmitted back through the wheel, suspension and to the driver and passengers.

  • Lower rolling resistance for improved fuel economy with temperature-activated functional polymer that increases chemical bonding.

  • Stops faster on wet roads. Silane additives enhance grip on slippery roads, reducing stopping distances.

  • Tires with a speed rating of T or H have a 145,000 km limited tread wear rating and tires with a speed rating of V have a 125,000 km limited tread wear rating

2016.5 cx5 GT

my factory toyo tire worn out at 38000km in the 3rd year( swapped winter tire from oct to april, sos the actual usage is much lower). A switched to fter contact tour, I feel the ride is more quiet, the tread life looks good after 1 year of driving, fuel economy is same or slightly less than the factory set.) Overall I like these tires, but surprisingly, these set of tire is shown as not fit for CX5 on Canadian tire online.

Yes, I recommend this product.

They just feel right!

I had a set of these tires installed today on my Mazda CX 5 GT Turbo. The tires that came with my car wore prematurely at 37000 km. They were used for two seasons in conjunction with snow tires. The Continental tires are highly rated. They are quiet and the ride is less harsh given the narrow sidewall of the 19" tire. So far they are true to their rating. I expect them to perform well on wet pavement as rated. They are definitely an upgrade from the standard tire supplied with my vehicle.

Yes, I recommend this product.

My 2009 Impala has 355,000kms so has seen a few sets of tires now. These are the best yet. Quiet, smooth and an 8 to 10% fuel economy boost!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: if tires are called All Season why wouldnt they be tested for snow

3 Answers
  • A: The term "All-Season" comes from the early '70s when Radial Tires were just coming on the market. It was found that Regular radial tires performed BETTER in the snow than Bias-Ply Snow tires. The tire manufacturers then marketed them as all-season. One set of tires for all year. We now have better rubber compounds that give us even better traction with more specialized winter tires.

Q: How are these tires in snow ? I understand they wont be as good as a full out snow tire, but do they perform well for an all season. living in Nova Scotia we do get some snow, so I would like to know is anyone has snow experiance on these tires

  • A: I'm driving a 2002 Chrysler 300m FWD and these tires were excellent last winter in Barrie ON . This region is known for heavy snowfall and ice conditions. Like last winter! Very impressed, the only other tire I have used up here that was just as good was a Goodyear TripleTread which is a lot more expensive.

Q: Is there some reason why I can't select a Continental True Contact tire for my Toyota RAV4 even though the tire size, speed and load are identical. My OEM tire is 225/65R17 101H and the Continental Tire is 225/65R17 102T.

  • A: Why doesn't Canadian tire sell the H speed rated version of this tire? It exists, it's on the continental website for this tire. So Canadian Tire gets Canadian exclusivity but only sells one speed rating? Why?

Q: Does the continental tires from Canadian tire have nitrogen in them?

2 Answers
  • A: Yes, by volume, 78.09% nitrogen, 20.95% oxygen, 0.93% argon, 0.04% carbon dioxide, water vapor is about 1% at sea level or lower with higher altitudes. None of this contributes to weight though.

Q: Tire Sensors My Saturn VUE has tire pressure sensors installed. Are these sensors installed in the new tires and what if any are the additional charges?

2 Answers
  • A: The ' tire pressure sensors' are part of the rim & have nothing to do w/the tire. I've read you should have them checked when changing tires, as the sensor battery may need replacing, & it's best to do while the tires are being done.

Q: Will these fit my journey? I have a 2011 Dodge Journey AWD. 19 inch rims that came with it 225/55/19. I want to know if the tire 235/55/19 will fit my journey? Thanks.

  • A: This is an acceptable size substitution. However, you will need to ensure that the speed and load ratings meet the minimum standards based on your vehicle’s tire placard. Please see a Canadian Tire Service Centre or our Tire Selector by vehicle to ensure you are choosing a tire that fits your needs.
