Best tires

It blows my mind that you can get this kind of grip on a all-weather (all-seasons). Just shows how much the technology had evolved over time. This may be the best winter tire I have ever had, including real dedicated winter tires. Originally intended to get something else, but the other option never was in stock so I ended up getting these... Very very impressed. The only downside is.... They are not a very visually appealing set of tires, which isn't a problem for me, but there are folks that care about the looks.

Great for the rain!

Best tires I’ve ever had for when the road is wet! I was surprised how fast I could accelerate without losing traction in the rain. They even seem to reduce hydroplaning. Haven’t used in snow yet but so far they’ve been great.

Q: Hi there, does the weather ready 2 tire out perform the cross climate 2 tire on snow and ice? The weather ready 2 seems to be a very new tire and I can't find much information on it

  • A: In one comparison on YouTube the tires ( Cross Climate 2 and Goodyear ) were so close that a “ winner “ couldn’t be chosen. Even a Goodyear Rep. thought the tires were so close that a clear winner was hard to pick. I have a set of Michelin CrossClimates on my 2017Highlander since June 2022. They are still at 7.5/32nds tread depth with a little over 35,000 kms on them. They haven’t seen really deep snow but are capable and predictable in up to 3 inches of snow or slush. On ice particularly black ice, they have done well but I adjust my speed and braking regardless. The comparison I mentioned didn’t test for ice or snow but just looking at the tread design on both tires the Goodyear should be just as good as the Cross Climate. The Goodyear has softer sidewalls ( but not squishy but a quiet tire on the highway) as well as evolving treads where the grooves get wider as the treads wear which should mean better hydroplaning reduction as the tire nears replacement time. The Goodyears are usually a tiny bit cheaper as well.
