Ok tool but quirky

I have had this tool for several years (a gift). For that reason I have learned to live with the quirks. The feed is uneven often leaving snipe marks. The belts brake easily but are very difficult to replace.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Just tried it. Cut some 6x6 I had into quarters with the table saw and then squared them all down to 2 1/2" with the planer for work bench legs. Easy to use and worked flawlessly. Very happy with it.

This planer has never functioned properly. Feeder issues, fragile plastic parts that broke in the first week. Depth adjustment stiff. Etc,etc.

Q: I dont believe these reviews are for the same 499-0428 product. Dewalt 734 looking at the pictures the reviewers supplied, they are of the far superior dewalt planer 735. If you could clarify which planer is being reviewed, that would be most helpful
