Reliable, inexpensive and handy.

I have been acquiring Kudus over the last 18 years or so. They are good reliable work knives. Gave one to a friend as a special gesture of respect. One little quibble, the Kudu is more like the Spanish navaja Andalusiana than an African design.

Excellent knife for the money. It's long & thin, kind of like a cool-looking steak knife. The lock is unique, took a few times for me to learn how to close it safely. Be careful, it's very sharp!

Bought one when it first came out, absolutely loved it! Best daily carry I’ve ever had! Unfortunately, somebody “pocketed” it at a “security screening” at the court house where I was looking up a document. But I’m getting another one!

Amazing everyday tool

Own this knife for some 7 years. It used to be my glovebox/toolbox knife or an outdoor backup knife. Lately I've been carrying and using it daily for food prep and garden work. Size, lightness and handle length make it my go to knife. It slices food like a breeze. It chops brushes and trims weed. Prunes thinner branches. Length and (lack of) weight give it really amazing blade speed to go through any reasonably soft wood. Hit a rock? It hones right out. It can be field sharpened using a piece of ceramic tile. Edge retention is adequate. Chipping? Non-existent. Rust? Not possible. Tactical coolnes 0/10 Material fanciness 0/10 Actual usefulness 10/10 The only gripe I had was ring which rattled and got in the way so I replaced it with 2 mm cordage loop. Ring tab diggs in the thumb somewhat but it's possible to work around it. I really wish Eland wasn't discontinued, because weight to blade ratio is insane. I'm thinking about getting Kudu light as stabbing isn't really necessary in real life every day use.
