Great quality charcoal grill that heats evenly, is

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had a great experience using the Weber 22" Performer Charcoal Grill. It's very sturdy and well built, and the materials feel high quality. The grill heats evenly and holds temperature really well, which makes cooking meat and vegetables easy and consistent. The ignition system for the charcoal works quickly and saves time compared to traditional lighting methods. I also like the side table and the overall design-it's convenient when preparing food. Cleaning is straightforward thanks to the ash catcher. Overall, it's a reliable charcoal grill that delivers great flavor and is simple to maintain.

I had the Master Touch for 10 years, after absolutely abusing it, it finally was time to replace it so I went with the Performer. The cook is identical, which is great, the cart is well constructed and solid and I have no doubt this will last for years. The negatives...the One Touch Cleaning Damper Blades which come installed from the factory were installed backwards; so the control rod was pointed towards the back of the grill. Unfortunately I didn't realize it until I finished putting the entire thing together. Changing the configuration isn't too bad, but the fact that I had to take the whole grill apart to reverse it was quite annoying. The ash catcher handle doesn't move that smoothly within the grooves to lock it in, you have to fight it a bit to get in place. The first time I used it, I didn't bother to check it was slotted correctly, and it dumped the entire catcher of ash. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase, it's a Weber Kettle, you know what you're gettting.
