A: I really don't know. The lids are quite light and easy to slip to the side a little to allow steam to escape. Perhaps this question should be asked of the manufacturer.

Q: Please confirm these can be used with a propane range - as well, there is a Dutch oven but some folks are saying they can't be put in the oven without harming the finish - is this true?

A: This set has been tested and advised for use on a gas, electric, and coil and deemed safe for use in the oven up to 400F. Hope this helps.
