A: I don't know. It isn't marked on the pan and I threw out the packaging. Got to say, I'm not really happy about the pan...it doesn't sit flat on my stove element. (Can't return it because I also threw out my receipt)

Q: Why is T-Fal still making products with Teflon (PTFE), considering all the health problems it causes? Is there a plan to change to something safe, like ceramic-coated steel?

A: I suppose T-Fal still makes Teflon products because a lot of people are not aware of the health issues and even if they are, they still want the non stick feature. It's not easy to cook with ceramic because there's a tendency for food (especially eggs) to stick and scorch to the pan unless you use a fair bit of oil or other fat. I use olive oil so at least it's healthy. Ceramic coating fry pans are available just about anywhere.

Q: Two other questions have conflicting answers re: non-stick surface. One says T-Fal does not use Teflon, but the other states the coating is PTFE non-stick surface. Since PTFE is the chemical name for the brand-name Teflon, its hard to know if it is safe

A: Thank you for your inquiry. Teflon is a brand name. T-fal is not associated with this brand. Our PTFE coatings are tested frequently to ensure they not only meet but exceed FDA and other requirements.
