Q: Does the "#8" mean it is approximately 1 inch in diameter? What do each of the numbers equal in terms of inches? Why isn't this specified on the packaging? I don't mean to be annoying but I think in inches and feet and not whatever #8 means.

A: I’m guessing number 8 is the gauge of the wire they used.
