The Outbound Grommet Kit is convenient for replacing missing grommets or adding to ripped or torn tarps. This grommet kit includes twenty 3/8 brass-plated grommets for added durability, a cutting tool, insert punch, and setting die. The grommet replacement kit is ideal for use on canvas, plastic, leather, cotton, or synthetic fabrics. You can use the repair kit while travelling or at home. The packaging includes instructions for an easy set-up. Extra grommets can be purchased separately.

Look elsewhere before you ruin your tarp or material you are looking to work with

Don’t waste your time buying this, it’s not the kit your parents used years ago. Now I don’t know the exact fail point if it’s the tool or the grommets themselves but what a nightmare. The grommet material is very flimsy so I suspect this is the issue. Essentially once you attempt to crimp the two pieces together you can’t remove the tool, the grommet material is so flimsy that it jams inside the tool and the only way to remove is to destroy the grommet. Even with very small taps with a hammer the result is always the same. For the price even being relatively inexpensive it is overpriced for the quality of the materials.
