Diesel/kerosene heater

Portable heater

Great little heater. It warms up a 30 x 40 shop in minutes to a comfortable temperature. The last time I used it the temperature was -25 and the heater started without any problem. Easy to use, easy to set up. There is some noise but it’s not unreasonable given that the flame operates under pressure and there is a blower pushing the warm air. I would recommend this heater for any small to medium size building. Very portable but be careful not to tip it backwards. The fuel cap leaks a little.

Not worth it

I have bought 4 of these units this winter The big one which came with issues out of the box , kept turning off and Canadian tire wouldn’t take it back / had to go through manual to figure it out luckily I did Then the other 2 80k had issues as well leaking fuel and blowing fuel out the front end not turning on. I ended up getting one going now stuck with 2 broken ones kinda pathetic after money you spend. Should be a easy exchange Customer shouldn’t be wrenching after spending 500 bucks

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: Is this unit safe to use inside a garage without some type of venting?

  • A: Yes, just crack the garage door a few inches to allow for fresh air, if your garage is insulated you won't notice the cold air coming in the opening, this heater puts out lots of heat.

Q: can i use furnace oil in this?

2 Answers
  • A: Yes you can use P-40 furnace oil, P-40 is just purple winter grade diesel with additional pour point depressants ( anti gelling agents added to make it flow at -40 ) gas station winter diesel anti gelling agent is temperature dependent, yes the refinery guesses the weather conditions for the next week or two so you never know what your getting, and you'll want P-40 in this heater if it's -40, or buy all your diesel in the middle of winter.

Q: fan power I know this has an electric powered fan but can it still run without the fan ie power outage and use it as a radiant heater?

  • A: No power, it won't work, but it runs great on this inverter Product #011-1892-4 and uses about 200 watts so you can get a few hours on a good car battery.
