Domestic tranquillity restored

After several years of spousal complaints of inconsistent usability, I finally succumbed to domestic pressure and replaced our 40+ year old tap innards. My first thought was to just install new washers, but the old cartridges were stiff and showed signs of corrosion. A quick search of local shops showed these to be both available and well priced. I'll admit it here, but never to her directly, that these were so easy to replace I should have done it years ago. Keep in mind that hot and cold are separate items, so check the labels and keep track of which is which. The taps now turn on with the greatest of ease, which is an adjustment for me after years of having to force the taps. Domestic tranquillity has been restored in our abode, but I'm sure she will find something else to complain about. What that is, I'll get to it within a few years as well.
