I use these pallets for 6 years each spring when I start my garden inside from seeds. Each pallet can accommodate 2-3 small seeds (e.g. tomatoes or pepper) or one big one (such as zucchini or melon). When each plant is well established (at least one "true" leaf) I replant each pallet in a small container, where it stays until I replant it in the garden. The 36 units package used to be cheaper but even at this price it is a good buy for the need that it satisfies. Follow the instructions: water abundantly and leave the pallets for several hours to expand and then water again, and once more after you planted the seeds. Make sure that the pallets are wet and seat on a warm carpet to stimulate the growth faster.

A: Thank you for your question. Most will say 5 years however they will still perform as indented if used after that period. Personally I've used pellets that were older than 10 years with no issue. Q: What size are these peat pellets? I need 36 mm, but I know that Jiffy has multiple sizes and 42 mm is the more common size.
