Why didn't I get this Sander Sooner ?!

I've been Palm Sanding, mouse sanding , & hand sanding for years. This baby knocked down my CNC routing paths off in no time, with ease of use as well. The only improvement I can see that would make this top shelf would be a hook and loop ( velcro ) circular pad instead of using sticky pads as I need to change them up as I move up sanding grits with each project . Finding different 6 inch sticky discs in stock was difficult . I thought about modifying it myself to the more common 5 inch velcro pads , but the moving angular table might pose an issue. But that's a rainy day project. :)

suprised by the weight. it is rather heavy which makes it stable. waited two years for the 60% off so this was a decent price at 99$ and it seems well made , all the screws and connections are tight. the controls are easy to use and understand.

Q: I just bought the Mastercraft Belt/Disc Sander, 4x36"/6" (15.2 cm!!!) but can't find replacement discs. Doesn't CAN Tire sell the replacement discs??? If so what is the item # and where can I get some. Thanks!

  • A: I’ve never seen a dust bag for the combo sander, I connect my shop vacuum to the sander exhaust port and it catches about 95% of any dust produced.

Q: What is the level of Grit on the sandpaper that comes packaged with the tool? I'm looking to replace the belt with a higher grit of Sandpaper, but I cannot determine what level of grit this pre-packaged belt has.

  • A: As Canadian Tire does not stock repair parts, you have to go to one of their repair centres, your store can tell you who to see, and order the paret there. As a lot of these repair centres are new they need all the help you can give them so take the owners manual with you

Q: How to install disc to disc sander ? When I peel the back paper from sand disc the surface is very lightly tacky but no way it would hold on metal disc of machine. Should I use some kind of glue, if yes what kind? Or what I am doing not right?

  • A: Any other disks you buy should probably be stickier, though the one that came with mine was perfect. To get it on there good, but still have it removable, try using some kind of spray glue. The best glue I'd recommend for this purpose would be 3M Super-77. Great stuff for a great-hold, but removable if you need to, and the residue is very easy to get rid of through rubbing or some Goo-Gone.
