The batteries suck big time 👎

The batteries for this tool suck big time. Grinder would probably work fine if batteries lasted more than five minutes.

Price is very reasonable, but lots of negatives, you cannot put to much force on it or it kicks itself off. The power trigger is very awkward to power on and you really have to push the trigger to start it. I would return it but being on sale the price was good and I have other Mastercraft tools that I can share batteries with, and because I needed it where I had no 110 volt power

Q: Will this run off the MAXIMUM 20v batteries?

  • A: Of course you can, they're both just 5 chinese 18650 batteries in a box, but you might need an adapter. You can mix and match every single 18v and 20v battery from any company and use any company's 18 or 20v with any other company's 18 or 20v, if you have an adapter. They're all exactly the same thing. 5 chinese made 18650 batteries in a box. There's nothing unique or proprietary about any of them. Same batteries that are in Teslas and vapes. Idk if they make adapters for Canadian tire packs in china but they might. Chances are Canadian tire didnt bother designing their own style of pack and they have a common charger with a more popular brand and you could find an adapter that way.

Q: Anybody else think it's weird that this looks exactly like the SKIL tool except this one cost 3x more and is a lot slower?

  • A: Hello, actually the similar design of different angle grinders are based on human engineering, which is for better using experience and work efficiency. SKIL is an AC product, Mastercraft is a DC product, the latter is more costly to manufacture than the former. In addition, DC product is more portable to use, which is not limited by place of use and power supply.
