Very good unit for the price. You could buy a more expensive tool but it would do the same job. As a hobbyist I would recommend it.

One small improvement needed.

The overall product is good, except for the insert on the table that the router fastens to. This piece is made of plastic and the weight of the router tends to make it sag down a little bit below the finished surface of the table top. The outer edges can be adjusted with the use of the screws around the outer edge of the insert but there is no way to raise the middle of the insert piece. This causes a problem when some precise routering jobs need to be done. Especially on shorter pieces of wood.

Great routing table and router combo kit, I was looking for something and actually was about to build my own design when I saw this one on sale. It took a bit to put together and to get it dialed in but once I spent the time and effort, it worked amazing, and I grabbed the maximum router bit set at the same time and it was a great deal too.

  • A: Here are the dimensions of the plate: 304mm (11.97” )x 203mm (8”). Note that the dimensions of the plate will not affect the operation. Please refer to pages 28 to 29 of the manual for router compatibility of other non-Mastercraft models.

  • A: The router mounting plate is not aluminum. It is a high-strength plastic plate in the top of MDF tabletop. The router is mounted under the plate.
