A good way to save your shop vac filter

This dust collector mounted nicely on a Canadian Tire bucket. All the hoses connected well to my DeWalt Vacuum. Build quality was nice and helped collect lot of the thicker particles when sanding and sawing. I still think that fine dust found its way into my DeWalt Shop vacuum filter. For what it is, you are paying for taking the guess work of rigging up your own contraption with a bucket at lid and knowing you are going to have something that is going to be latched down and sealed tight.

This is only useful to eliminate pieces over 1/8” from going to your vacuum, anything smaller goes through and fills the vacuum.

The portable refuse collector. really works for chips and probably sawdust. It probably foesn't take out all the dust. The connectong hose is very shor and stiff.

A: It is designed to catch heavier particles, while vacuuming, in the 5 gallon bucket as a "Pre-filter". I am not sure why you would connect it backwards, however, if you did connect the inlet of the bucket to the output of the vacuum, you would indeed be able to force air through the 5 gallon bucket. Hope this helps.
