Worked well for me to find where a connection had melted a marret in a hidden junction box behind my wall. I watched a couple YouTube videos for tips and tricks on using it witch helped. It Is only for de energized lines.

Nice idea, poor execution.

I was quite excited about this product. About ⅓ of the highly rated equivalent Klein. I liked the fact that it had connectors to everything I wanted to trace. First try, on the 8-foot Ethernat cable, worked very well. But when I tried on a bumdle of 8 Ethernet cables in a basement, it was different story. The sound emitted from the probe was extremely weak. I couldn't see the difference in tone in any of the ca;les I touched. I played with sensitivity but couldn't make it work. It's a shame, but for my needs it proved to be inadequate. Returned.

  • A: I know this is a 2 year old question, but I suspect many others, like myself, had this same question. I sucesfully used this tool to trace 16 gauge speaker wire behind drywall. It actually worked far better than I had expected.
