Poor product

It dried out quickly even though it was a gel. It required.3 to 4 thick coats to soften the paint enough to scrape it off. Had to be washed off completely with water before application of new paint.

Please note for best results you must follow directions carefully. Here are some helpful tips when using our removal products: 1. EZ Strip removal products are water based and stop working if they dry out. Avoid direct sunlight and cover treated surface with painters plastic to keep product wet and working during longer set times. 2. Set times will vary, EZ Strip will not damage recommended substrates being stripped so let the product do the work for you. Leave the treated surface for as long as needed for coating to soften for removal. 3. For best removal results use recommended removal tools ideal for the surface you are stripping. 4. EZ Strip is temperature sensitive and works best above 10°C. EZStrip

Works; with effort and adhering to instructions

After reading all the bad/good reviews I took a shot at it on old door frames that have 4 layers of paint. After some trial and error I can say that it works well IF it doesn't dry out, if its applied very thick/even (like icing a cake) enough on every spot, if you cover it in plastic and tape the plastic closed, if it sets long enough, but not so long that its dried. In short, it needs perfect circumstances. If you are prepared to make careful preparations and perfect execution; then yes it works well and is a good choice for the price point. I did much better with a paint brush as opposed to the reccomended roller. its very, very messy job so preparing the work area is essential

Yes, I recommend this product.

Paint removal

This item is ineffective and does not perform as expected. I had to resort to using a heat gun to assist in the paint removal process. I ultimately used up the entire bottle on a single project, resulting in a very costly endeavour.

please note we recommend using painters plastic to cover treated surfaces as some low quality food grade plastic wraps can melt when used with our removal products. EZStrip

Q: Will this work to remove clear coat from aluminum?

1 Answer
  • A: Thank you for your interest in the EZ Strip Professional Strength Paint Remover & Varnish Stripper Gel. This product is designed to remove various types of finishes, including paint, varnish, and some clear coats. Regarding your question about removing clear coat from aluminum, we recommend testing the product on a small, inconspicuous area first. This will help you determine the effectiveness of the stripper on your specific type of clear coat and aluminum surface without risking damage to a larger area. To test, apply a small amount of the EZ Strip gel to the clear coat and allow it to sit according to the product instructions. Then, use a scraper or putty knife to gently remove the softened clear coat. If the test provides satisfactory results, you can proceed with using the product on a larger scale.
