Thompson's and the North Atlantic

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using Thompson's Water Seal for years - 12 years to be exact - and I've never changed a board in that time. We live by the ocean and wanted a nice deck to replace the small one that was there before so we could just enjoy the view and sea air. My wife and I more than doubled the size of the original deck and we wanted to protect our investment. We researched many stains and sealers but Thompson's caught our attention and we have no regrets. Our deck takes a licking every year from North Atlantic storms, but it has stood up well. I can only attribute this to our annual application of Thompson’s Water Seal stain. Deck staining day in spring with Thompson’s has become a tradition for us!

DO NOT BUY THIS HORRIBLE PRODUCT!!

We applied this product last summer and it looked great HOWEVER it is now April, the snow has melted and we’re left with this MESS! Wherever water sat or dripped, like off the gazebo, the stain has peeled and lifted, less than 8 months later. The entire 40’ x 16’ deck needs to be sanded now! What a waste of time, energy and money.

No, I do not recommend this product.
