The new regulation in Ontario required me to have a carbon monoxide detector on every level of the house. I had no extra electrical outlet in the basement, so I found this unit suitable to use. It has a sticky label for mounting on the wall, but I found a ledge in the basement to place it on, which allowed me to easily comply with the new regulation. I would say it is a little expensive, but carbon monoxide detectors are generally more costly on average.
