Product Details

The First Alert FG250A Smoke Alarm was specifically designed for residential and institutional applications, including sleeping rooms of hospitals, hotels, motels, dormitories and other multifamily dwellings. The compact, low-profile design of this alarm complements any décor. Battery installation and removal can occur while the smoke detector is mounted to the ceiling or wall via the hinged cover. When the voltage drops to a pre-set warning level, the horn will "chirp" approximately once per minute to indicate a fresh battery is needed. To ensure the battery is always replaced properly, the cover is designed to resist closing when the battery is missing. Designed for wall or ceiling mounting, this smoke alarm includes mounting anchors and screws.

Better design.

Bought this one because the offerings from kiddie don’t have an off switch and you can’t disconnect the battery. Kiddie units seem overly susceptible to dust at 2 o’clock in the morning. I’ve had to drown tow of them in a bucket of water.
