Q: We chose this model as it will automatically power back on after an outage but we’d like to use it to keep pipes in an unseated crawl space from freezing. We need to know how much clearance is safe at the various settings.
3 years agoA: Too expensive for that purpose. There are pipe heaters, that wrap around the specific area you'd like to keep warm. They're 1/3 the cost of a space heater, also uses less energy. Search "EASYHEAT Automatic Electric Water Pipe Heating Cables, #052-2592-4"
