Goes through a lot of water quickly, constantly filling it. 2 jugs of distilled water a day. Very quiet, keeps humidity at 40% in 1500 sq.ft. So a good buy.

Buy a different unit

I bought the Mini-Console evaporative humidifier over two months ago. The room is 30 feet and I have it set at 45 humidity. It rarely gets to 35 when running full time 24/7. It's often in the high 20's to low 30's. It does not put white powder over the house, which is great. The filters are in a circular shape in the unit; however, when you buy a replacement filter it's folded in a rectangular box, so it's impossible to get it to lay correctly in the unit.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Puts a lot of moisture in the air in a short time and cycles really nice when set on auto. I'm using it to add humidity to a 980 square foot main floor. I also rotate the wick every 2nd fill to keep it moist.

- A: In Mississauga, the filter will last 4-5 months if you use Essick water conditioner as directed. If not, it will probably last just a few weeks. It gets discoloured and the humidity in the room won't change, even when the unit seems to be functioning properly.2 years agoHelpful?
Q: Any issues with the unit leaking onto the floor? I have purchased a couple humidifiers in the past and they ruined my hardwood floors. We need one but now I'm leery, and we don't have a central furnace to install one of those units.

- A: We have ours set to Auto fan and 45. It will stops when at humidity level. Make sure not near outside door will kick in every time door opens. It is suppose to be placed so far out from wall also. So try checking settings and where you have placed. We have a humidity reader also so can check humidity. Humidity should be between 30 and 60. Q: It says in the description that this unit pumps out 8 gallons of water, yet the tank is only 2.5 gallons. How is this possible or does this mean I have to fill it 4 times a day?

- A: I change mine once every month (we have cats). Though I soak the old filter in vinegar and water, dry and reuse. You can usually get a couple of washes before they break down.4 years agoHelpful?
