Ive been using it and it's good. Every once in a while some of the popped corn sticks under the metal stirring arm and burns, but it's good. I prefer to melt my butter separately form the holes in the bowl. We like it. The bowl holds 2 batches of popcorn once popped....alot !

Plastic bowl isn't made for heat and cracked

This popcorn machine has a really unfortunate issue. We love it, and I wish it had lasted. The plastic of the bowl cracked in no time. We took great care of it and use it about one time per week. The plastic isn't for heat and cracked. Betty Crocker doesn't seem to provide replacements. Waste of money, unfortunately.

Pops great, fun to watch.

Great even popping. Easy to use. Not as susceptible to burning compared to a microwavable type. The top of the popper is used for melting butter, however, it doesn't really work that well and gets messy. The cap for the bowl doesn't fit anymore. It may have deformed from the heat?

Q: can you use butter salt mixed into the oil like at the movie theaters?

A: No, you cannot add any salt or seasonings to the oil prior to using the item; they will burn onto the heating plate. You can sprinkle salt or seasonings over the popcorn once kernels are popped.
