I bought a used one. It was a model that came out 25 years ago and it still works. I bought a new one with the same model. I love it I also love the carafe warmer.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Formerly the best but getting less durable

I am buying my 4th version of this. It seems like they fall apart or clog faster and faster. But I really like the style and hopefully this one will last longer than #3.

Not happy

Coffee is great. I make 3 cups. First 2 cups pouring is no problem, but the 3rd cup is a disaster. No matter how careful I am it splatters. Am I doing something wrong or is there a secret method? I tried taking the lid off for the 3rd cup, but drip, drip,

Thank you for sharing your experience—we’re glad to hear you’re enjoying the coffee, though we’re sorry about the splattering when pouring the final cup. This can sometimes occur when less liquid remains in the carafe, so we recommend pouring more slowly, keeping the lid fully seated and aligned, and tilting the carafe gradually to allow smoother flow; ensuring the carafe spout is clean and free of residue may also help. If the issue persists, our Consumer Assistance Center can provide additional tips at 1‑800‑726‑0190. Thank you for your feedback, as it helps us improve product design and future models.

Q: Is charcoal filter washable or will it have to be replaced?

  • A: you can clean the filter. i believe the manual says to soak in cold water. impurities in the water are "attracted" to the filter media and bond. its just a matter of breaking the bonds. after soaking i usually flush with cold water under the tap. i also run the machine with vinegar and water prior to putting the filter back to ensure i have cleaned out any "scaling" etc.

Q: Does this unit come with a permanent filter included?

  • A: Yes; but when compared to the two previous coffee makers we've owned from Cuisinart, this unit is a little smaller and not as high a quality. So far, it has worked well.

Q: does the dual temperature setting (regulating how hot the coffee is) work? We like our coffee "hot" and find that most coffee makers do a poor job of making/keeping it hot - willing to pay the price if this feature actually works

  • A: Hot indeed, be sure to leave the temp setting on Hot forever!

Q: The lid for the carafe will not stay on. The lid falls off when the coffee is poured

  • A: The lid has to line up just so with the handle to press and snap into place, just poor design, a hinged lid would be better especially for the price.

Q: Does the clock window get damaged over time due to the steam from the carafe?

  • A: The time is there but of course you can't see it because it's not lit, backlit or lit up in any fashion. More poor design.

  • A: I have one I used full-time for 7 years, buttons never broke or failed, even the little toggle switch was sturdy.

Q: Why is there a card with the buttons functions on it in the instruction book? It has holes that line up with the face of the machine and the font color is far more legible than that on the machine. But it has no sticky side to fasten
