What a disappointment!

We received this product as a gift - a very generous gift given the cost. I would love to give this product a 5 star review as the one time we did use it, our rice was perfect! However, we were only able to use it once, as the under-cabinet lights melted the "Open" button and now the unit does not open. I am very disappointed that a product that costs the amount it does is made poorly enough to be ruined simply by sitting on a counter. The part is able to be replaced if we pay for parts and labor (fine) but also for shipping to and from - so essentially bringing the cost up another significant amount of money. I am so disappointed, not only for us, but for the person who purchased this now completely useless item for us. What a waste of money. :(

Q: 3 cups means: can one put 3 cups of uncooked rice into the vessel - resulting in at least 6 cups of cooked rice, or is the maximum result 3 cups of cooked rice?

A: I inspect this up close and I think they mean 3 cups cooked rice , there is no way it could be 3 uncooked. the pot is so tiny. it is ok for one person.

Q: Are the parts dishwasher safe?

A: it is safe but I personaly wouldn't put them in dishwasher, it can scratch the liner inside the pots also heat can damage the plastic parts.
