We bought this roof top carrier as we going on a month long vacation. The reviews were kind of mixed but bought anyway. I was actually surprised at how well it worked we drove in pouring rain and hot sunny weather. It did exactly what it was designed for and did not disappoint. Nothing got wet or otherwise so I would recommend this product.

Worked out great & no issues this past week when used for at a Provincial Park camping & 2.5 hours of driving one-way. I would recommend. It only took minutes to install (on my 2025 Chevy Trax w/cross-rails). Has a claw like grasp, from inside to down over the cross rail. You tighten or loosen using a large bottle cap style turn mechanism (from since the cargo box), and has push to lock on one side of the turn cap (within the centre). Light enough I could lift/slide myself into the roof (used a towel to protect the car). When driving over 80 km/hr you can hear a hum like noise (though it is not annoying). To successfully close and lock the lid - go slow & test to ensure the lid closes & locks after you add something before adding everything at once. Keep the hinges at each end clear to close (a sleeping bag could be in the way) and the three locks across the bottom (don’t have a plastic bag in the channel path). Else, the lid will not easily close & will not smoothly lock. You should not need to apply force or pressure, when everything is fitted inside correctly, the unit will smoothly lock. And if you purchase onsale, that is an added bonus.

I wasn't sure if I could find the quality of my last very expensive Thule Cargo Box but this item had all the quality and even a better finish that we like very much. We took a trip with it out of province to a wedding and through terential rainfalls and everything was safe and dry.
