Q: What oil does CT sell that you recommend for a flat tappett v8 engine? I am using it in a 351 windsor marine engine. Please include the zddp levels of this Formula 1 High Mileage oil. Thanks.
10 years agoA: As a collector car guy with years of experience on engines.....here's my opinion.... Canadian Tire makes a good Motor oil....nothing wrong with it and it would not do any damage to any engine if used with the proper grade and according to auto specs of any manufacturer..... If your looking for ultra high ZDDP levels for your engine and it is stock with maybe slight modifications or full race category..... I would use Valvoline 10W-30 Racing Oil rather than using a regular 40 or 50 weight oil or diesel oil that would give a slight loss in performance for marine use for your engine. This Racing Valvoline 10W-30 oil can operate as a regular oil with high detergency in normal conditions meeting SN requirements like most oils but can withstand "Ultra -High" loads as well.... as in Racing Engines performance.....so you actually have the best of both worlds in one oil ! Believe me.....you will notice the performance of ultra smoothness in your engine using this oil...especially in your marine application.... Good Luck!

Q: Which is the best oil for a high mileage engine ? I have been using the Formula 1 oil (in the silver jug) with the synthetic wearguard for the last ten years and I was wondering if I should switch to the High Mileage oil (in the red jug) or continue to use what I have been ?

A: It's possible that you don't "need" it per se, since you have been using a quality oil all these years. Should you notice symptoms such as seeping oil, or puffs of smoke when you jab the gas pedal, then you could try this oil which should help recondition aging gaskets and seals.

Q: Does this oil good for my escape? MotoMaster Formula 1 High-Mileage Motor Oil 5W20 is specifically formulated for vehicles with over 120,000 km. my car drove for 30000km. I am not sure if this is good for my car. My car is Escape of Ford.
