Q: Is Motomaster Semi-Synthetic grease suitable for cv joints ?

    1 Answer
    • A: Constant Velocity Joints (CVJs) are a unique application. The lubrication of the joint is not difficult. However, the boots that contain the grease in the joint are made from a wide variety of materials and combinations of materials. As a consequence of this variety of materials, we do not recommend any grease for CVJs unless we have first tested the compatibility of the grease with the boot material. If the grease and boot are not compatible, the boot can harden and crack or soften and swell. Either of these can result in the loss of lubrication and failure of the joint.
