    Very good purchase

I bought this backpack to use on canoe camping trips, to store my daily used items, while other camping supplies are safely enclosed in waterproof containers. The backpack is made of what seems like very durable material, and easily holds up against branches and other woodland obstacles. the pack is also water Repellant, NOT water proof; however, it comes with a rain cover that comes out of the bottom of the bag, and wraps around the pack, leaving exposed, only the part that would be against your back. The rain cover also resists well against branches, but i don't think it will do so as well as the backpack itself. The backpack only has 2 compartments : the large one occupies around 90% of the pack and can be accessed from the bottom and the top, which is convenient when the main compartment is divided by a drawstring closure in the lower 3/4 section of the pack. The other 10%, is a small compartment at the top of the bag, which i use for flashlight, first aid kit, and snacksThe backpack can hold enough supplies to last 1 camper for 2 days and 1 night. It can hold (for me) : 1 change of clothes, 1 two man tent, 1 tarp, 1 compact sleeping bag, 48 hours of food, flashlight, matches, lighter, knife, small first aid kit, water filter, small cooking set and cutlery, toilet paper, hygiene gear (basic dental equipment and deodorant). The bag can also hold water bottles and sleeping mat on the outside, tied by the multiple straps(the rain cover can easily stretch to cover externally stored equipment. The backpack has well padded shoulder straps, along with cross chest strap, and a waist belt. Although there is no water bladder slot, the pack is designed to keep the backpack from having direct contact with your back and their is enough room to place a bladder in this space, provided that it has shoulder straps to put on, in order to keep it in place. The profile of the pack is not wide enough to obstruct your arms(and i am thinly built) and does not pass above the head, which makes it wearable during canoe portages. It is unobstructive to bodily movements. Over all, this backpack is great for 1 night trips to carry only personal necessities, and is well worth the price

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: What is the height of this backpack in inches? I am wondering what the height of this backpack is in inches, and would I be able to fit a 23.5 inch axe into it?

Q: Good? is this good for a 13 year old who likes to do survival stuff and are the zippers water proof and would it be good for 4 day camp-out with no rv just one tent

    1 Answer
    • A: This pack would be a reasonable fit for a 13 year old adventurer. This pack is generally considered a medium fit for adults and does provide adjustable shoulder straps and waist belt for a better fit. The zippers are not waterproof, however, the pack comes with an integrated rain fly to be used in bad weather. The Yukon 45 litre is a versatile pack, but it would generally be used for overnight trips where tenting was expected. Longer trips tend to mean more gear – depending on who else is in your camping party (and what activities and distance you are covering – you may want to consider a larger volume backpack for a 4 day trip. Backpacks, like footwear, are an important piece of equipment that should fit properly. We always recommend users try on the product before heading out on their trip to make sure it is appropriate and fits properly
