Packy snow accumulates on underside of the shoe.

Have been out with these a few times now and they seem to be generally good. Used mostly on flat ground. On cold days, below 0C they work great but on days when it is slightly above zero and the snow is packy snow accumulates around the cleats on the underside of the shoe creating a large snowball in the two areas. This makes the shoe very heavy and cumbersome and one is constantly knocking the accumulated snow off of the shoe.

Q: Are these just for children? What size would fit a woman who is 135 lbs.

A: Hi Susan, Outbound snowshoes kit has different sizes with different weight capacity, for example size 21: 120 lbs , size 25: 160 lbs the snowshoes' capacity is yourself and your gear's weight. so normally we recommend size 25.

A: Hi Dawn, the snowshoes load capacity should include the user's weight and the gears. Normally size 930's load capacity is 210lb size 1036's load capacity is 265lb.
