It's plastic

Absolutely did not catch that this was made of plastic. Ordered online and just opened it up. Now I have to return to because I wanted stainless steel.

stopped working after 6 months

I purchased thjs kettle based on the reviews and it worked great until yesterday. turned it on and nothing happened. It just quit working. For an expensive kettle that is not a long life at all - just half a year.
Pro's - heated water very quickly, turns off when boiling
Con's - stopped working after 6 months
No, I do not recommend this product.

LEAKED LIKE A SEIVE

was so excited to have a shiny new kettle only to have this one leak all over ,i thought maybe i overfilled it but i tried a few times just to confirm it was leaking ,it leaks right out the bottom on to the base , i see by all the good reviews that i may have just got a defective one , im a little unsure on whether to return it or exchange it

Great kettle

This kettle has a top that is easily removable for filling. I had a stainless steel kettle and left a streak from the water running down from the spout. If you did not wipe it immediately it would leave a permanent streak and always looked dirty. I have had it for 3 weeks. The black is very easy to wipe and always look clean and shiny. It boils very quickly. I love this kettle.

Excellent kettle

I use a kettle every day, and I have been through a few brands of kettles. I must say that I really like my new Oster kettle from the sleek look to the overall operation. I must say that I am really impressed. I really like the design and the blue light that's on while it's boiling, it has an auto shut off. I usually plug it in while I'm washing my dishes so I can make a cup of tea right after. It boils fast, with a very nice temperature, very little noise a bit quieter then the average kettle.
Yes, I recommend this product.

It is made with PP (polypropylene) material and all food contact parts are BPA-free and tested to meet FDA requirements.
