Had for a few weeks works amazing, hose for pump came with it, even though it says sold separately, extremely convenient with the pump as It pumps the excess water outside or to a drain.

We purchased the dehumidifier after our A/C stopped working. Our basement had so much humidity. The first day we used it, we had to empty the water bin after a few hours. It takes in so much humidity. We are very happy with the purchase! By the way this survey took way too long to complete!!

Poor quality, Noma dehumidifiers don't last

I have had two of these Noma units now. The first one gave a code and stopped working while under the warranty period. The second unit has now thrown the same E9 error code in its second season of use. I'm guessing that there isn't warranty on a warranty replacement. Time for me to try a new brand.

Damp, stinky basement? Not any more!

I purchased this as an upgrade for my failing (very old) dehumidifier as my crawlspace had fallen victim to the massive amounts of rain we had in June. It did not disappoint! I set it up, with the included hose set up to discharge in the utility sink in my laundry area, and it started to pump out water almost immediately. Within a day it was obviously doing it's job as the space felt noticeably less damp, and the humidity sensor indicated a drop. It was on sale when I purchased ($299.99, down from $419.99 regular price) and I'm not sure I would have purchased it at full price (because I'm cheap) but I would have been kicking myself because I think it is worth it.

Dried out damp basement

Bought it on sale to dry out a water damaged corner of the basement, when I plugged it in it was at 70% humidity 24 hours later the room was 50% and 48 hours was at around 32%. I used the included 1/4 tubing line and pump feature which I routed into the base of our downstairs shower and it works well to send the extra water there. It’s fairly quiet and seems to do the job nicely, I think I will run it full time during the summer to help keep the moisture down.

Q: Le déshumidificateur ne collecte pas l’eau dans son réservoir.  J’en ai acheté deux et ils ont le même problème.  L’eau s’accumule et coule par ses orifices dessous et vers l’arrière.  Si je dévisse le bouchon arrière l’eau s’écoule par là aussi.

Q: Bought it a little over a year ago, now it's showing an E9 error code, what does it mean? Is it easy to fix? thanks

  • A: The E9 error is a commonly reported problem that I am also dealing with. Noma should figure out why their units have the problems that lead to the E9 error and fix their design or manufacturing process; otherwise, they will lose customers like me. I was told by the company that looks after replacement parts for this brand that repetitive E9 error was due to leaking refrigerant, not the sensor. Dehumidifiers should last more than a few springs and summers. If Noma can design and build one that reliably lasts 5-10 years, is easy to maintain, and is fairly priced for the quality, they will regain my support.

Q: I plan to use garden hose to drain the unit to a floor drain which is only 3ft away. Do I have to use the pump option or simply let gravity drain the dehumidifier?

  • A: Yes, gravity drain is one of the three options.  Just connect a length of cut off garden hose (or any hose with female adaptor) through the side access door and water will flow down your hose to a drain instead of into the bucket.  Saves a lot of emptying the bucket and allows the unit to run continuously.  Pump option is only needed when water must be lifted higher to drain in laundry tub etc.

Q: mine didnt come with a pipe to connect to the pump outlet. i live to far away to exchange it. what size pipe does it take?

  • A: A) It is NOT a pipe It is a HOSE.. B) Click on the MANUAL in the middle of this page... OR... read the one that came with your unit... OR... go the website of the manufacturer and read it for yourself. C) The manual says 3/4" (19mm) hose.
