Q: Can you put a standard 2 prong outdoor plug into this extension? Will there be a problem if the pin holes remain open during snow and rain? I want to use it to hook up outside Christmas decorations which just have two prongs.

A: well since there are more holes in there than one plug and holes lead to electricity and water being conductive. Yes and no. Yes if you get water in there you could shock yourself if you touch it. But no you don't have to touch it till it drys. However, you can buy covers that put a waterproof seal over the connection areas to make it safe from water conductivity
