I use this for my block heater cord, so that it isn't always drawing power. It's only "on" for 3-4 hours before I start the car. Working great in -40c temps! Mechanical is the way to go.

A: Up is off, down is on. I find it quiet easy to pull a pin up using my fingernail. I'm a guy and love electronics, but this is a great timer - simple and reliable.

Q: J'ai installé la minuterie hier soir, mais la pompe ne s'est pas arrêtée après 21 h. J'ai recommencé (lever et enfoncer les segments), sans succès. Que le bouton soit d'un côté ou de l'autre (minuterie vs marche), le moteur roule sans arrêt. Problème?

A: You can use an extension cord on the outlet, but I believe the timer is desighned to be mounted on a wall . Btw, when the outdoor temperature dropped to -28 C, the timer dtopped working. We exchanged it for a second one an it fid ghe same thing.

Q: If the timer is unplugged or lost power, does it still remember the current time and on/off times? I know many digital timers lose everything/resets when unplugged.

A: This is a mechanical timer, not a digital one. It just looses the time when unplugged. Obviously, if it's just unplugged for a few moments, it just loses a few moments of time. The time of day is easy to set by easily twisting the dial.

A: Simply push down the period youd like it active. I.e 8am - 10am simply push down from 8 to 10. To ajust the clock to corrrct time simply rotate the clock.

Q: What is the warranty, add says 1 year, paperwork in add says 3 years? How many outlets, add says one, video says it has 2 outlets as does several of the reviews. Please verify.
