Sorry, can't recommend it.

Have used this to make burger patties three times so far, and won't be using it again. Two issues: 1) I like a burger that fills the bun. This burger press does not meet that requirement. It is just too small in diameter. When the patty comes out of the press, it looks about the right size for a standard bun. Alas, as we all know, burger patties do shrink somewhat during cooking, so you end up with a patty that is not nearly big enough, even when using the local grocer's made-in-store "small kaiser" bun. This is especially true if you prefer medium ground beef, which we do, because it provides juicier burger. 2) Getting the patty out of the press without deforming it or having chunks of meat sticking to the device is a problem. If you clean it after pressing each patty, the problem goes way...but, really? We didn't try the slider press that comes in the package, so no comment on that.

The Napoleon Team
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with the burger press. We truly appreciate your honest feedback!\n\nWe understand that preferences for burger size and ease of use can vary widely, and we're sorry to hear that the product didn’t meet your expectations. Your insights about patty shrinkage and the cleanup process are valuable, and we’ll be sure to pass them along to our product team for consideration.\n\nWhile we know this may come down to personal preference, we’re grateful you gave it a try and shared your thoughts. If you ever decide to test out the slider press, we’d love to hear how that goes too!\n\nThanks again for helping us improve.

Fantastic quality!

I’m not an overly savvy cook, so this skillet is a new way to make meals but wow, I love it! Instructions are a big help for newbies in the kitchen like me (season it first!), and my first meal was fajitas. I’m excited to try more recipes with this!

A great product that delivers a higher grade of cooking

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I received this cast iron skillet in the mail from Napoleon for free to test. Immediately I noticed the weight to it - which always in my mind is a guaranteed indication of great quality cast iron. I began to season the skillet that night as directed on the back of the packaging. Not difficult, easy to follow directions and voila it was ready to go. The next day I tried a couple simple items on it, a grilled cheese sandwich for the kids and a special creamy turkey penne quesadilla. The skillet was easy to handle and work with. I love the removable handle, holds it heat very well, thus cooking at an extreme higher heat level. Great for dedicated cast iron lovers - you will want this one in your collection. It’s unique shape will allow you to snap up new recipe ideas. I noticed the difference in the food, particularly the crunch in our sandwich and quesadilla. I would have a couple more kicking around for the bbq and or the open campfire. Every cast iron fanatic will want this in their cooking arsenal.

Really good cast iron skillet

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Really good cast iron skillet and cooks well. Size wise, it’s for one individual portion size.

Now I need every skilled to have a removable handle.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Full disclosure, I received this product for free for testing purposes. Seasoned up the skillet and made a quick pizza on the barbecue. Skillet preformed as expected for high quality cast iron product. However the removable handle is life changing. So much space saving compared to a traditional skillet.

Questions

1 - 1 of 1 Question

Q: What is the Max Temp for the Napoleon Skillet on our Napoleon Bass BBQ?

1 Answer
  • The Napoleon Team
A: Cast iron should remain stable up to 1500°F, the iron's structure changes as it gets hotter with a melting point of 2200°F. In terms of seasoned cast-iron cookware, its temperature can reach up to 700° Fahrenheit.
