Won't stay toasting - have to hold down

Bought this to replace a cheap plastic toaster, the Moulinex certainly looks nice. BUT....most times it's used, I have to hold the levers down, and if I don't it pops up after 1, 2 or a few seconds. So when it does finally stay down, the toast is often burnt. Utterly useless.

Liked the size, look and features. Delighted to get it on sale. Stopped working after 3 months and the replacement barely lasted 3 days! Problem both times was that the bread wouldn't stay down and, consequently, the elements wouldn't work either.

Twice unlucky

Was looking for a straightforward toaster, no bells and whistles. My last toaster which I paid $15.00, not a Moulinex, lasted 5 years. My problem with the Moulinex toaster is the up/down lever. It became defective after 7 months. Had it replaced on warranty and within 2 days, starting the same problem. I am returning it to get my money back. Never buying that brand ever again.
