    If you have a need for SAE30 HD oil, this is the most affordable option. It maybe an outdated spec, but some engines a multi grade oil is lethal, Detroit Diesel two stoke engines. As a bonus, this oil is made in Canada, by Irving Oil.

    This oil works fine in small engines.

    I live on an acreage and my lawn is over 4 acres in size, so my mowers work quite hard. I've used this oil for over 10 years in all of my mowers and other small engines with complete satisfaction.

    Q: Can this oil be used in 4 stroke push lawn mowers?

    • A: I've been using this oil in all of my small engines (push and riding mowers, log splitter and chipper for years with NO oil related engine problems. Since it's meant for severe diesel engine service it has a high detergent content and therefore keeps your small engines clean. It is reasonably priced and protects small engines far better than what the so called experts recommend.

    Q: Would Motomaster engine oil SAE 30 be okay for an inboard/outboard boat engine used only from May to late August on Lake of the Woods?

    • A: Without knowing either the engine type or the type of oil recommended for use in that engine, we cannot answer this question. Need to know if the engine is two-cycle or four-cycle, what type of oil is recommended for use in the engine (what specs, etc.), and whether or not the oil gets mixed into the fuel (as opposed to being added to an oil-only reservoir.
