False green ligh

Received this as a Christmas gift a few years ago. Worked well the first few times it was used, then had it sitting in my tool box for a while. As soon as I plugged it in to charge it before the next use, the light indicator immediately went green, but it wouldn’t turn on. The other fun part was determining which charger was used for it as it’s a third party power supply and the spotlight doesn’t have any labeling or indication on it as to the proper input for charging. Hopefully the newer models have taken care of these issues.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Nice flashlight/Lantern however it started to leak battery acid around the handle. This can cause chemical burns and irritation to skin and eyes.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Over time it started leaking a oily substance around the handle area, possibly battery acid. This could be hazardous to health if absorbed to skin by touching, causing rashes eye irritations.

Product does not work

Bought three units. Out of the box none of them worked. Went back to Canadian Tire where I bought them, and the manager looked at me like I broke them on purpose. The flashlights are totally useless, as is the manager at canadian tire. At least the flashlight showed a flash of light for a second.

No, I do not recommend this product.

  • A: 120 Lumens c'est pas beaucoup. C'est peut-être pour le mode lanterne et non pour le projecteur avec l'ampoule halogène de 28W.

  • A: The sku 037-8060 discontinued from 2017, in 2017 the new sku number is 037-9929-2. If your hands have the 037-8060, it may use 3.7V 1300mAh lithium battery, you can change 3.7v power style 18650 lithium battery, you can change 3.7V 1300mAH, or higher capacity 1800mAh, or 2000mAh/2200mAh all ok, but we didn't advice you change the battery by yourself, please ask some professional person to do it. The battery I don't sure where can buy, maybe some hardware stores. Tks.

Q: Hello. I have the Eliminator flashlight/spotlight. It's leaking a clear oil around the handle. What is this substance and where is it coming from? Is it toxic or a hazzard? It's a serious concern. Please let me know what options I have.

1 Answer
  • A: From the description, it should be caused by the chemical reaction of the rubber at the handle. The rubber should avoid contact with oil, acid, bromine water and so on. This sku number should be 5/6 years ago, I don't sure when you purchased, if you purchase in 1 year and keep the proof of purchase, you can go store to change a new one for free.

Q: Our Eliminator LED spotlight leaks a clear oily substance all over the handle. Any idea what is causing this? Is it possible that it is the rechargeable batteries and if so what can be done to prevent this?

1 Answer
  • A: When this happens, we guess that the product may have reacted with some chemicals. Alternatively, when the product is at a high temperature such as more than 120 degree, oil maybe seep out of the surface of the product.
